Where it all began...
It was 1939 when Mi Rancho moved its operation into the former Southern Pacific passenger
depot on 7th street in Oakland,California. It was the only Mexican market around
and there was a ready and hungry market for their fresh handmade tortillas.
In 1954, my father and grandfather, Robert Berber Jr. and Sr. purchased the fledgling
10,000 square foot Mi Rancho business. Under my father’s leadership Mi Rancho expanded
it’s business to include local retail and foodservice distribution to the Greater
Bay Area. The Mi Rancho name soon became synonymous with integrity, service, quality
and authenticity.
All of us at Mi Rancho are proud to produce such high quality artisan tortillas
for foodservice. We are dedicated to providing only the best. You can taste the
difference.

Mi Rancho Goes Green
Mi Rancho is proud to have been featured in the February 2, 2011 edition of the New York Times online. (boss.blogs.nytimes.com)
Going green was a “no-brainer,” says Joe Santana (pictured above), who is vice president of operations for Mi Rancho.
Mi Rancho recently replaced more than 200 overhead lights with energy efficient fixtures in its warehouse and production facility.
In addition Mi Rancho works with various agencies to reduce it’s environmental footprint.
Food Safety
When Mi Rancho uses the term state-of-the-art, that includes all aspects of our operation from production to food safety.
Our Quality Assurance department constantly monitors our manufacturing process from procurement of raw materials until our products are consumed by end users.
Our standards are very high and that is why we have continually received a superior rating from AIB year after year.
Customers are invited to make arrangements to tour our plant and see how we make high quality tortillas in a clean and safe facility.

Our Facility
Mi Rancho operates a state-of-the-art facility in San Leandro, Ca. We continually receive a superior rating from AIB. We are QAI organic certified, Kosher certified, a military approved vendor and a member of TIA.
For three generations, we have been combining the art of making tortillas with modern production to produce high quality tortillas that are consistent in quality, texture and taste.
Mi Rancho has an exstensive R&D department available to customize products to meet any requirements you may have.

Driving Directions
From 880 South/North take the 98th Avenue exit (Oakland Airport) and drive west. Turn left onto Bigge Street. Turn right onto Adams Ave. Take the last left onto Hester Street.
We are located on the right hand side about 100 yards down Hester.
Visitors must check in at our front office located to the left of the loading dock. All deliveries and pick-ups must check in with our dispatch office at the loading dock.
